I find that this is a chocolate chip cookie that is excellent for kids to help. They can help measure and mix. My daughter loves to take a batch of dough and make her own cookies. I just use a ice-cream scoop and it works really good. I have used a 1 tablespoon scoop and a 2 tablespoon scoop and they turn out excellent each and every time..

brown sugar
2 c
chocolate chips (i have different flavours of chocolate chips besides just chocolate and they turned out good)

Directions Step-By-Step

1
I put everything in my mixer bowl and turn on the mixer and it mixes fine. I have the original directions that i will post but i find when i do it the original way that they don't turn out. Someone else might have better luck doing it with the original directions.....
2
Cream together margarine, shortening and sugar and beat. Add eggs amd beat. Add rest of ingredients except chocolate chips. Beat until smooth, stir in the 2 cups of chocolate chips...
3
I bake them at 350f for 8 minutes.....The original baking instructions are Bake at 375f for 8 to 10 minutes or 350f for 10 to 12 minutes. I have done them that way but i don't like the way that they turn out. I find when i bake them at 350f for 8 minutes they are so nice and chewy....
