A few days ago my husband brought home some candy canes. Mind you we do not have little ones at home nor do we have grandkids about. When he handed them to me he said "See what you can do with these". This is my first recipe for them. This one I made up as I went.
In a blow cream together butter, sugar, salt, egg, baking powder, and vanilla. mixing well. Add the flour. Mix well and add the crushed candy canes. Bake on a bakers secret cookie sheet (those thing are amazing) in a 350 degree oven for 10-12 minutes. Mine were 12 exactly. Be careful removing the cookies as the candy cane part can become liquid, if you havent crushed them enough they can become a burn hazard. allow to cool slightly before removing. If you do not have bakers secret I would only leave them in 10 minutes. You can see where the top left and bottom right cookies are liquidy as they came from the oven.
