Mountain Dew Cupcakes

My husband drinks mountain dew so I always have this on hand.If you don't want alot of lemon and lime omit the juice and zest.I enclosed a frosting but you can use any that you wish.

lemon juice, fresh from one lemon
lime juice from one lime
lemon zest, grated and lime zest from one lemon and lime
2 3/4 c
1 1/2 tsp
1Beat butter and sugar.
2Add 1/2 of lemon juice and 1/2 of lime zest and mix till fluffy.
3Add eggs one at a time. Mix together.
4mix together flour,baking powder and salt and add to sugar mixture. Mix well.
5Add in mountain dew and 1/2 lemon and 1/2 lime juice.Mix till blended.
6Fill greased muffin cups 2/3 full. Bake at 350 degrees for 18-20 minutes or until golden brown.
7ICING: 1 cup butter, 4 cups powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons of mountain dew, half of lemon and lime juice from cupcake recipe, half of lemon and lime zest from cupcake recipe. RECIPE: Beat butter and half of the sugar. Add mountain dew,zests and lemon and lime juice and mix well. Add remaining sugar till the sweatness you desire. Frost when cool .Keep regrigerated.
