Ingredients For ginger-cream bars

1 csugar

1 cbutter, softened

2 call purpose flour

1 tspsalt

2 tspbaking soda

1 Tbspground cinnamon

1 Tbspground cloves
-
1 Tbspground ginger

2eggs
-
1/2 cmolasses
-
1 chot coffee
- FOR THE FROSTING

1/2 cbutter, softened
-
1 pkg3 ounces cream cheese, softened

2 cpowdered sugar
-
2 tspvanilla
-
chopped nuts, optional
How To Make ginger-cream bars

1In a medium bowl, cream sugar and butter. Sift together flour, salt, soda and spices; add to creamed mixture. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition, and molasses. Blend in coffee. Spread in a 15-in. x 10-in. x 1-in. baking pan.

2Bake at 350° for 20-25 minutes. Cool. For frosting, cream butter and cream cheese; add sugar and vanilla. Spread over bars. Top with nuts if desired.
