These are nice fluffy cake-like chocolate chip cookies! They are a big hit around the holidays and for any occasion!

Ingredients

1 c
shortening
1/2 c
brown sugar
1 c
sugar

eggs
3 1/2 c
flour
1 tsp
baking soda
1/2 c
milk
1/2 tsp
salt
1 tsp
vanilla
12 oz
chocolate chips

Directions Step-By-Step

Cream together first three ingredients.

Add eggs and beat

Add flour, baking soda, salt, vanilla and milk. Mix Well.

Add chocolate chips. You can add nuts if desired. Mix Well!

Drop a teaspoon of batter on un-greased cookie sheet. bake at 375 for 10-12 minutes. They will be rounded and will not get very golden unless you burn them. Touch them to ensure they are fully cooked!

    Definitely saving this recipe for my holiday baking...thinking I will use butter flavor shortening. THey sound good...thanks for sharing :o)

    I usually use margarine. Real butter also works fine. Just be sure not to use skim milk. The cookies do not retain their flavor unless u use a milk with a little fat in it. I usually use 2 percent or whole! Happy baking!

    OH ok...if butter or margarine is ok then I will probably you one of them, I thought it needed shortening only and I still wanted a little butter flavor so that is why I was thinking the butter flavored crisco stuff. And as far as the milk goes, thanks for the heads up...we're not low fat milk people here LOL. I'll post some pics of them when I do my baking next month :o)

    These are cooling on the counter right now! I live that they are golden brown on the bottom and light and fluffy. Thanks for the recipe Eric.
