Cinnamon Crisp Bars

pinch tips: How to Melt and Soften Butter




1 cup butter, softened, 2 sticks
1 cup sugar
1 egg yolk
2 cups flour
2 tsp. cinnamon
pinch of salt
1 egg white, lightly beaten
2 cups chopped pecans

Directions Step-By-Step

Beat butter and sugar in mixing bowl until light and fluffy. Add egg yolk, flour, cinnamon and salt. Mix well. Press over an ungreased baking sheet or jelly roll pan with sides, pressing with bottom of a glass to spread evenly; the layer will be very thin. Brush with the egg white and sprinkle with the pecans. Bake at 325 for 30 to 25 minutes or until center is firm. Cool on wire rack and cut into bars. Makes 21
