Chocolate no bake cookies

Ingredients

1/2 c	butter
2 c	sugar
1/2 c	milk
1/4 c	cocoa powder
1 tsp	vanilla extract
1/2 c	peanut butter
3 c	quick cooking oats

This is a recipe that I keep going back to. My kids and their friends love them and they are quick and easy to make.

Directions

In a large sauce pan melt butter. Then add sugar, milk and cocoa, mix well. Bring to a boil and cook one minute stirring constantly. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and peanut butter until dissolved. Stir in oats. Drop by table spoons onto wax paper or foil. Cool.

This is a great summer recipe - don't need to heat up the oven. I have been making these no bake cookies for over 30 years now. I got the recipe from my grandma.

These are absolutely wonderful...just like my mom made and taught all of us kids how to make. Now we all teach OUR children how to make them. Its the he perfect blend of everything for the perfect heavely bite...or two ..or three :) My daughter was just asking abt the recipe for these a few wks ago so i set out to find the reipe i lost...and found it. thanks so much!! Sometimes for a treat we would add 1/2 cup of raisins or coconut...but even without them these are perfectlly decadent!! Its a wonderful sensory memory of my mom and myself as a child then myself teaching my own daughter many yrs ago, i lost the recipe...but found it here again. thanks sooo much Donna!!
