Extremely delicious recipe from my friend Michelle Bunker. The Bunker family are close enough to be relatives...we have been close friends for about 15 years now. They brought us a plate with these cookies (as well as other precious goodies)for Christmas one year. What a treat!
Heat oven to 359 degrees. Grease a 13x9x2 inch baking pan. Stir together flour and brown sugar. Mix in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add egg and mix well. Stir in 1 1/2 cups of chocolate chips and nuts.
Reserve 1 1/2 cups of the mixture. Press remaining crumb mixture into bottom of prepared pan. Bake 10 minutes.
Pour sweetened condensed milk evenly over hot crust, top with 1 1/2 cups of toffee bits. Sprinkle with remaining crumb mixture. Sprinkle remaining 1/4 cup of toffee bits. Cool and enjoy.
