Ingredients

1 c
crisco (mostly butter)
3/4 c
brown sugar, firmly packed
3/4 c
sugar
2
eggs
1 tsp
vanilla extract
1 tsp
salt
1 1/2 c
flour
2 c
oatmeal, uncooked
1 tsp
hot water
1 tsp
baking soda
1 c
coconut
1 1/2 c
semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 c
chopped walnuts

Step-By-Step

1Cream sugars and shortening. Add eggs one at a time, beat well. Add vanilla.

2Stir baking soda into hot water. Add to cream mixture above.

3Whisk salt, flour together. Add coconut and oatmeal and mix well.

4Stir dry ingredients into creamed mixture just until combined. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts.

5Bake at 350 degrees until light golden brown, about 10-13 minutes.
