Chocolate Caramel Bars

Dawn's Story

What's not to love about peanut butter, chocolate and coconut especially all in one recipe!
These are very good! Be careful not to overbake them.

Ingredients

CRUST
1 c
all purpose flour
1/3 c
sugar
1/2 c
butter, softened

FILLING
1/2 c
sugar
1/4 c
peanut butter, crunchy
1/2 c
light corn syrup
2
eggs
1/4 tsp
salt
1/2 tsp
vanilla
1/2 c
flaked coconut
1/2 c
semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions Step-By-Step

Heat oven to 350 degrees.

In a mixer bowl combine crust ingredients. Beat on low until mixture is crumbly.
Press into greased 9x9 pan. Bake 12 minutes.

In same bowl combine filling ingredients except coconut and chips. ( walnuts if desired).

Beat on low until well-mixed. Add coconut and chips, stir well. Pour over hot crust. Bake additional 20 minutes or until filling is set and golden brown.

Cool. Cut into bars.
