Ingredients For cherry macaroons

1 1/3 cshortening

1 1/2 csugar

2eggs
-
1 tspalmond extract

3 1/2 call purpose flour
-
2 tspbaking powder
-
2 tspbaking soda
-
1 tspsalt
-
1 1/2 cflaked coconut
-
1 cmaraschino cherries. chopped
How To Make cherry macaroons

1In a large bowl, cream shortening and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs and extract; mix well.

2Combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture. Stir in the coconut and cherries (dough will be very stiff).

3Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls 2 in. apart onto greased baking sheets. Bake at 375° for 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool on wire racks.
