Jayne's Notes:

I got this from a friend, who is on a neverending quest for the best chocolate chip cookies. I think she hit it with these ones.

Directions

1
Preheat the oven to 325?F. Grease cookie sheets or line with parchment paper.
2
Sift together the flour, baking soda and salt; set aside.
3
In a medium bowl, cream together the melted butter, brown sugar and white sugar until well blended. Beat in the vanilla, egg and egg yolk until light and creamy. Mix in the sifted ingredients until just blended. Stir in the chocolate chips by hand using a wooden spoon. Drop cookie dough ΒΌ cup at a time onto the prepared cookie sheets. Cookies should be about 3 inches apart.
4
Bake for 15-17 minutes in the preheated oven, or until the edges are lightly toasted. Cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

I made these and when it came to the white sugar I added about 2/3 cup. I forgot to use only the egg yolk of the second egg. These were good, but mine did not turn out chewy. My were crunchy. I will try again using only a second egg yolk and see if that makes a difference.

I made these cookies, but used dark brown sugar... and OMGosh... they are delicious!!! Everyone went nuts over them.

I am going to try making a these in a gluten-free, sugar-free version. I will tell you how they turn out. :o)

Please do tell when you've experimented with gluten-free and sugar-free. I have several friends who can't do gluten and would love to treat them to something fabulous.
