My aunt gave me this recipe to me when I first started to cook/bake. This is my "go to" cookie recipe because you can make so many different cookies from the same batch of cookie dough and because it's so good.

Ingredients

1 c
butter ( i use butter flavor crisco)
3/4 c
granulated sugar
3/4 c
light brown sugar
1 tsp
salt
1 tsp
baking soda
2
eggs
2 1/4 c
all purpose flour
1/2 tsp
water (i use x-large eggs so don't need this)
1 tsp
vanilla

OPTIONAL: CHOCOLATE CHIPS, COCONUT, NUTS, PEANUT BUTTER, ETC.

Step-By-Step

1Cream butter, granulated sugar, and light brown sugar. Add eggs and vanilla.
2Add remaining dry ingredients. Don't over mix.

At this point I divide the dough into smaller bowls and add ingredients from the optional list.

Refrigerate 30 minutes.
3Drop by spoonfuls or a cookie dropper onto parchment paper or pan sprayed with PAM. Flatten slightly. Bake 375 degrees 9 to 11 minutes.
