absolutely the best sugar cookies
These sugar cookies have a semi-crisp bite to them. That is just like I like them. The butter gives them a rich balance and the addition of the heavy cream assists in the resulting texture. These are by far the best sugar cookie I have ever had, but you decide for yourself. The cookie bakes up very flat and is great for gift giving, as they stack quite nicely for wrapping in cellophane and a ribbon. My advice is to bake plenty if you plan on letting the secret out that you baked them.

1 1/2 stickunsalted butter

1/2 tspkosher salt

1/2 tspcream of tartar

3/4 tspbaking soda

1 1/2 tspbaking powder

1 1/2 Tbspheavy cream

How To Make absolutely the best sugar cookies

1Beat sugar with butter in a mixing bowl.

2Mix in flour until well blended.

3Form 1 1/4 inch balls of dough. Place on an ungreased sheet (9 to a sheet). Flatten each ball with a flat bottomed glass dipped in sugar.

4Bake in a 375 degree oven for up to 11 minutes.

5Remove from oven and cool for two minutes before transferring with a spatula to a rack to cool completely.

6Store in an airtight container.

7Makes 34 simply sweet cookies.
