Peanut Butter Chocolate Bars

Kelli Thomas Recipe

By Kelli Thomas kelli1

I just discovered this recipe from the blog The Girl Who Ate Everything. On, my! Tastes like a big peanut butter cup! Peanut butter cups are my husband's favorite and he absolutely loved these. The coconut is optional- I left it out because I wanted it to be as close to a real peanut butter cup as possible.

Directions Step-By-Step

1
Preheat oven to 325. Combine the cake mix, melted butter, peanut butter, and eggs in a large bowl. Press into a 13 x 9 pan, reserving about 1.5 cups of the mixture to crumble later on top.
2
In a small pot, melt the chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and the 2 tbsp butter. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla and coconut, if you are using it.
3
Spread the chocolate mixture on top of the cake mixture in the pan. Crumble the remaining cake mix on top.
4
Bake for 20-25 minutes. Then try not to eat the entire pan.
