Lori's Story

My husband and I love this recipe. They really taste like a Mounds bar. I discovered this when I was reading a book and the characters were sipping on a Mounds Martini. I searched the internet for the recipe, tweaked it a little and fell in love with them. Hope you enjoy them!

Blue Ribbon Recipe

Notes from the Test Kitchen:
I absolutely LOVE Mounds candy bars... but they may have to take a back seat to this yummy drink! The perfect dessert drink to sip after preparing a Blue Ribbon meal.

Ingredients

4 oz
coconut rum
4 oz
chocolate liquer (clear or brown, your choice)

Directions Step-By-Step

Pour both ingredients into a martini shaker with 3 cubes of ice and strain into a martini glass. Enjoy. I've rimmed the glass with chocolate milk mix and a mixture of cocoa and powdered sugar, but the martini is wonderful by itself.

Sometimes you feel like a nut...if you do, add 2 ounces of Kahlua for an Almond Joy martini.

If you are making this recipe ahead, skip the ice and refrigerate the mixture in the martini shaker for a ready-to-pour cocktail.

Lynn, I don't remember which book I found this in because I always have a book in my hand or an audio on my iPod. The characters were enjoying a Mounds Martini at the bar on girls night and I had an assortment of bottles out taste testing before I turned the page. Love this recipe. Glad everyone is enjoying it!
