This is a recipe for just good old fashioned chocolate Pudding, one of my favorite desserts when I was a child .This Recipe has been around since 1921, it was on the Hersheys Baking Chocolate Box. This recipe is from Hersheys and in a cookbook called Best Recipes from the backs of Boxes, Bottles, Cans and Jars By Ceil Dyer
combine sugar, cornstarch,and salt in a medium saucepan , gradully stir in the milk and the egg yolks, mix well and then break the choclate into pieces and add to mixture.cook and stir over medium heat, untill mixture boils, boil and stir for 1 minute, remove from heat add the butter and Vanilla extract, mix well. Pour into serving dishes , chill and add whipped topping before serving.
My Note , most of the time we ate this warm, You canpour the cooked pudding into a baking dish and add a meringue ,over it , bake it, and serve warm.
