Serve warm, with ice cream if desired.

1Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Melt the stick of butter in a 13 X 9-inch glass baking dish.
2In a bowl, mix the 1 c. plus 2 T. sugar, flour, vanilla, and milk. Pour this batter over the butter in baking dish, but do NOT stir.
3In a separate bowl, mix together the cocoa and remaining 1 cup of sugar.
Sprinkle the cocoa/sugar mixture over the batter. Again, do NOT stir.
4Pour the 2 cups of boiling water on top of the cocoa/sugar (do not stir).
Bake for about 30-45 minutes.
