This was always a treat when I was growing up. I remember my mom making it often.

Ingredients

1 c
all purpose flour
2 tsp
baking powder
1/2 tsp
salt
3/4 c
sugar
2 Tbsp
cocoa powder
1/2 c
milk
1 tsp
vanilla
2 Tbsp
melted butter
1 c
chopped nuts of your choice
3/4 c
brown sugar
1/4 c
cocoa powder
1 3/4 c
hot water

Step-By-Step

1Mix together first 9 ingredients. Pour into a greased 8x8 pan or equivalent casserole dish.
2Sprinkle brown sugar and 1/4 c. cocoa powder over batter.
3Pour 1 3/4 cup hot water over batter. DO NOT STIR! Bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes. The brownie rises to the top and the pudding forms on the bottom.
4Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream. Delicious!
