Peggi Anne's Notes:

About 6 years ago I looked on the internet for a recipe for this because I tasted someones & liked it. I found one, or several...all the same. I thought...this can have so much more flavor. So... I added several types of cereal & nuts to kick up the flavor.

You may have to make double the chocolate coating & use more powdered sugar,as, this makes a lot, so be prepared.

I freeze this in gallon zip lock bags & just pull some out when I need it. No need to thaw. It's ready!

Hope you enjoy as much as we do.

Directions

1
Melt the peanut butter with the butter or margarine and the milk chocolate. Then add the vanilla.
2
Pour over the cereal and toss until well coated.
3
Place the coated cereal in a large paper sack where the confectioners' sugar has already been added.
4
Fold down the top of the bag and shake to coat.
5
Sift the cereal mixtuire with a FF basket or something similiar, to remove excess powdered sugar.
6
Pour out onto wax paper & spread into single layer.
7
Let set up for at least 1 hour.
8
Bag in gallon freezer bags & keep frozen until ready to use.

I have made this several times for the last few years at Christmas. The only difference is I have never added the blueberry muffin tops cereal. My daughter-in-law loves this stuff.

Bea, you put all the other cereals in there already? The original recipe only calls for chex & some other one maybe. These are just some I picked out that I thought would taste good.

Dana, thanks, but not my title. It was already named.

Thanks girls!!

Yes I have, Peggi. I have even added honey nut cheerios and captain crunch before. A friend and I made it one year and we used whatever cereals we each had on hand. I've also used regular cheerios in it, too, which I actually liked better than the captain crunch. That wasn't as good to me.

I was just thinking about Capn' Crunch. I wondered about it. I really like the blueberry muffin tops & the cookie crisp cereal the best in it.
