1/2 stick butter
1/2 c sugar

This is a Hard Fudge, not the soft gooey kind. I loved it growing up! I hope you enjoy.

Mix together all ingredients, put in double boiler and cook until it forms a soft ball in cool water (about 5 minutes).
Pour in greased pan, let cool and cut in squares.

Is there supposed to be some sugar in this?? :)

I think it should be 2 cups sugar, not water.

I don't remember my mother ever adding sugar, but the water it for the double boiler. But if you would like to add sugar, then start with half a cup and work up from there. Thanks for the comments.

Is it unsweetened cocoa or something like Nesquick cocoa which is presweetened?

I make a similar sauce for ice cream topping! Its a killer of a recipe! So good! i would post it but I never measure, so next time I make it I will try and get some measurements.

sounds good, recipe should then start out, put two cups of water in bottom of double boiler...then begin, with ing. for top of boiler.
