This is our family Christmas fudge recipe...My mom gave it to me and I have never had a failed batch yet...
This is rich and decadent is not gritty like some i have tried....We both make this every year...I have tried others but this one is the best yet....I will never use another.

Ingredients

4 1/4 c
sugar
1 can(s)
evaporated milk (tall can)
1 stick
butter, cold
2
bittersweet chocolate (squares)
1/4 tsp
salt
3 pkg
chocolate chips
1 pt
marshmallow cream
2 c
walnut pieces

Directions Step-By-Step

Butter baking pan...Makes 5 pounds ( I use a brownie pan though I like mine fairly thick...
on medium low heat

Heat slowly the first 7 ingredients, to a rolling boil for 10 minutes...
Then stir in nuts after removing from heat...
Pour into pan and smooth out with spatula quickly before setting....

Let set in cool place cover with wax paper while it cools....Cut into squares and decorate your platter, you may cover with press and seal after they have cooled..

How many ounces in a tall can of the milk? I didn't even know there was more than one size. I come from a small town, maybe we only have one size here. Or can you tell me how big around and how many inches high?

Made my fudge again 5 lb's and everyone is Happ Happ Happy!!!!!!!!!!! It is Yum Yum Yummy!!!! Very Rich too.....It should last through New Year's Maybe...LOL

Sounds like you cooked it a bit too long.....I just made mine......
Private post me and walk me through what all you did and how you did it, break it down for me and I can tell you what happened......When I am doing my fudge I always stick a spoon in it during the boing when it gets close to the end to see what stage I am at....

Please tell me what I did wrong! It came out like a giant tootsie roll...very sticky and gooey,. Ugh!! I can bake anything but really want to make fudge. Can you help me???
