pecans, halved (should be 3 1/2 cups)
Combine sugar, water, salt and vanilla in a skillet and simmer for 4 minutes or until mixture spins small threads from the spoon.
Remove from heat and stir in pecans.
Continue stirring until syrup forms a sugar coating over the pecans. Gently seperate nuts while cooling. Place on wax paper until dry.
