| I c | water |
| 2 c | all purpose flour |
| 2 c | sugar |
| 2 | eggs beaten |
| 1/2 c | sour cream |
| 1 tsp | almond extract |
| 1 tsp | salt |
| 1 tsp | baking soda |
| FROSTING | |
| 1/2 c | butter |
| 1/4 c | milk |
| 4 1/2 c | confectioners sugar |
| 1/2 tsp | almond extract |
| 1 c | chopped walnuts |

Directions
In a large saucepan, bring butter and water to boil.Remove from the heat, stir in flour, sugar, eggs, sour cream, almond extract, slat and baking soda until smooth.Pour into a greased 15-in x 10 in x 1 baking pan.Bake at 375 for 20 to 22 minutes or until cake is golden brown and tests done. Cool for 20 minutesMeanwhile for frosting, combine butter and milk in a saucepan. Bring to boil.Remove from heat, add sugar and extract and mix well. Stir in walnutsSpread over warm cake.

I can attest to the fact that this recipe rocks! I am constantly requested to make this for church potlucks. It's extremely easy and feeds a large crowd. I have also made this by substituting vanilla extract for the almond, and it's fabulous either way. Just depends on your own personal taste. While the cake is baking, I wash the sauce pan I used to make it, and use it for the frosting, so clean up is easy! :)
