AUNT JANETTE's TOP HAT CAKE
butter (room temperature)
semi-sweet chocolate chips (keep separate)
Combine all ingredients for the topping except for the chocolate morsels. Put aside.
Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, sour cream and vanilla. Add flour baking powder, baking soda and salt.
Grease and flour 9 x 12 pan. Pour half of batter (which will be very thick).
Sprinkle half of topping mixture and half of chocolate morsels on top. Top with remaining batter and smooth out over chocolate morsels. Sprinkle remaining topping and chocolate morsels.
Bake in 350 degree oven for 40-45 minutes.
