Tia Maria Cake

1 large ready made angel food cake
1/2 c tia maria liqueur
2 Tbsp whipping cream
2 c whipping cream
2 Tbsp tia maria liqueur
2 Tbsp icing sugar
6 almond roca chocolate bars

A very easy cake to do with a store bought angel food cake or you can make your own from scratch.
Makes a beautiful company centre piece.

Cut cake into 2 layers Place each layer on a plate.
Combine 1/2 cup of tia maria and 2 tbsps cream. Prick cake layers all over with a skewer. Drizzle tia maria mixture over all parts of each layer; bottom and top. Cover with saran wrap and chill several hours. Two hours before serving whip 2 cups of cream and fold in the 2 tbsps of tia maria and the icing sugar. Ice cake including layers.
Crush Almond Roca and toss over top and sides of cake . Chill until serving time. DELICIOUS!!

what is Almond Roca? Are those the gold foil wrapped balls? tia maria liqueur...what kind of flavor is it...is it strong? I love angel food cakes with light fillings..I do lemon filling, chocolate..and others with fresh fruits. I am curious about this with the tia maria..(I am not a drinker..persay) This is something I would love to try..but unsure about the liqueur.

Hi Lynn Tia Maria is a coffee liqueur made originally in Jamaica using Jamaican coffee beans. It is very delicious and not alcohol tasting...I really don't like alcohol myself...I am most definetley not a drinker!!! I will post a picture of the bars bur really you could use any you like or whats available...also I like your idea of the gold foil wrapped balls.
Hope you try it as you will love this dessert....so easy and a show stopper!!!

Oh thank you, Doreen. I will give it a try for sure..it sounds fabulous! As I said..I love angel food cake with any fillings or drizzles... :) I can handle something that doesn't taste like alcohol...so this will be fine! I will be sure to let you know when I do!

Okay..got the pic of the candy bars...now I know what to look for, and like you said I could really use any candies/bars to my liking..YUM This sounds perfect though.

I think you were thinking of the Ferrero Rocher chocolates....they would be perfect actually!!!
