Missy's Story

This is a favorite at our company potlucks. If you do not have Sun Drop, you can use Mountain Dew. You can also use orange cake mix, and use Orange Crush for the soda. It is a great addition, as well.

1 box
lemon cake mix
3/4 c
vegetable oil
1 box
instant lemon pudding (small box)
10 oz
sun drop soda
2 oz
sun drop soda
1 tsp
vanilla extract
1 c
confectioners' sugar

Directions Step-By-Step

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix cake ingredients, and pour into a greased bundt cake pan. Bake until done, normally 45-50 minutes.
Beat glaze ingredients, and pour over warm cake.

If you substitute the SunDrop and use Orange soda do you still use the Lemon pudding mix? My mom is wanting an Orange Crush cake for her birthday and she told me to use a SunDrop cake recipe and I've never made one.

Donna, I know I love Sun Drop much better than MD (in my opinion) please try, you will love this cake.
Paula, Mountain Dew will work great, they are just alike. I bet 7-up or Sprite would work too. Let me know if you try one of those. Enjoy.

Never heard of Sun Drop, so it must be a local thing. Cake sounds good. I will have to try it with Mountain Dew, 7-UP, or Sprite, I guess. Thanks for the post!
