My Great Grandmothers recipe that was past down.

cold water
2 c
1 c
4 c
2 tsp
baking soda
1 tsp
1 tsp

Directions Step-By-Step

Boil raisins for 15 minutes in 2 cups of water. Add 1 cup of cold water and let cool. Cream together the sugar and shortening. Add raisin (do not drain). Add dry ingredents. Bake at 350 for 1 hr.

    Do you use all three cups of water,or only the one cup that you cool it in.Also need to know what size pan.Thank you

    Boil it in 2 cups and use 1 cup cold to cool it. Use a standard 9 x 13 pan.
