This is a favorite cake made by my grandmother. All the women in the family tried but could not make this cake like grandmother could. Theirs was just not as good. Only one aunt could come close to making this cake almost as good as grandmother. The name has always been a mystery to the family. Noone, even grandmother, knew why it was called Quisite Cake. It was a delicious cake that we children always looked forward to eating.
Cream butter and 1 cup sugar. Add eggs, one at a time. Beat until light.
Dissolve on stove the cocoa, 3 tablespoons sugar and 3 tablespoons warm milk. Add to mixture and mix well. Gradually add 1/2 cup milk, flour and baking powder (mix baking powder with flour). Put in 3 buttered and floured pans and bake at 350.
Mix 2 cups sugar, 2/3 cup milk and butter the size of a walnut; boil exactly 4 minutes. Beat until soft and creamy mixture. Add vanilla and spread between layers of cake.
