Oreo Cookie Cake

I know there are several versions of Oreo Cakes here on JAP, but I'm adding our favorite. I got this recipe about 20 years ago from a coworker. Still one of my family's favorites. In fact, my son requested this for his 21st birthday! SO easy and SO good!

pkg. oreo cookies, finely crushed
1/2 c
butter, melted (no subs)
8 oz
neufchatel cheese, softened
1 c
powdered sugar
2 (8oz)
containers cool whip, thawed
5.1 oz
pkg. instant vanilla pudding mix (or any flavor)
2 1/2 c

Directions Step-By-Step

In a bowl, combine Oreo cookie crumbs (that have been crushed in a food processor) with melted butter; mix well. Press all but 1/2 cup of crumbs into bottom of glass 13x9 baking dish.
In a separate bowl, blend cream cheese and powdered sugar with an electric mixer until smooth. Fold in one container of Cool Whip. Spread over the crumbs in glass dish.
In a separate bowl, mix pudding and milk until smooth a slightly thickened. Pour over other 2 layers in glass dish; spread evenly.
Spread other container of Cool Whip over pudding layer. Sprinkle with reserved 1/2 cup of Oreo crumbs from step 1. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
*NOTE* This gets better tasting as time passes so make a day before serving for best results!
