1/2 cshortening

1/2 cgranulated sugar

1/2 clight molasses

1 1/2 csifted all purpose flour

1/2 tspsalt

1 1/2 tspbaking powder

1/4 tspbaking soda

1 tspinstant coffee powder

1 tspground cinnamon
-
1/2 tspground cloves

1/2 cwater
How To Make molasses cake bars

1Cream shortening and sugar; add egg; beat well. Mix in molasses and water.

2Sift together remaining ingredients. Stir into creamed mixture.

3Pour into a greased 13x9x2 inch baking dish. Bake at 350 F for 25 minutes.

4While warm, frost with Confectioners Icing. Cool; cut into 24 squares.
