Ingredients

BASE LAYER
1 bx yellow cake mix, reserve 2/3 cup for filling
1/2 c butter, softened
1 lg egg, beaten
FILLING
2/3 c reserved yellow cake mix
1/2 c brown sugar, packed
1 1/2 c white corn syrup
1 tsp vanilla
3 lg eggs, beaten
1 c pecans, chopped

Another recipe that it seems everyone has. This is a holiday dish.

 

Directions

Preheat oven to 325. Butter and flour 9 x 13 pan. Combine cake mix, butter and egg. Press into 9 x 13 pan. Bake for 15-20 minutes.

Combine reserved cake mix and remaining filling ingredients. Pour over partially baked base layer.

Continue baking 30-35 minutes. Cool. Cut into bars.

This may be a holiday dessert, Karla, but thank our lucky stars...there are a lot of holidays...New Years, St. Patrick's Day, Easter, President's Day, Grandparents' Day, Fridays...you get the picture! Thanks for posting this...I had almost forgotten how wonderful this is. It's a rich dessert, so just a little slice is a piece of heaven!!

Thank you, Donna. I am going through my cookbook and posting the recipes I love the most so that I have a record of them for my daughters and son and grandchildren. LOL.
