Mix white cake mix according to package directions. Pour 1/2 of cake mixture into prepared torte pan. Bake according to package directions, cool and remove from pan. (I usually use the other half mix for cupcakes, unless I want 2 tortes, then I need to double the cream cheese ingredients and use an additional can of pie filling)..
Beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, almond extract and whipped whipping cream until smooth. Fill indented side of cooled torte with this mixture.
Cover the cream cheese mixture with a can of cherry pie filling. Chill thoroughly and keep refrigerated.
