Lemon Pound Cake

This is the pound cake that my husbands Grandma makes. People always request it.

Ingredients

3 c
sugar
2 stick
butter (not maragine)
1 Tbsp
crisco; solid
6
eggs
3 c
flour; sifted
1/2 tsp
baking soda; sifted
1/4 tsp
salt
8 oz
sour cream
1 tsp
vanilla
2
lemons

Directions Step-By-Step

Cream together the first 3 ingredients. After creamed together add 1 egg at a time until combined.

Zest the two lemons and add the zest to the above mixture; Add 1 Tbsp of strained lemon juice in with the vanilla. save the lemon juice and strain the pulp from it.

Sift dry ingredients together.

Add dry ingredients and sour cream into creamed mixture; ending with the dry ingredients.

Add vanilla and lemon last.

Lemon Glaze:

1/2 Cup Powdered Sugar
Lemon Juice
1 Tablespoon Melted Butter

Bake in 350 oven. Approximately 1 hour depending on your oven.
