My mom always made this in the fall. What a way to come home from school to the wonderful aroma.

Ingredients

1 c
sugar
1 can(s)
14-1/2 ounce can of applesauce
2 c
all-purpose flour
1 tsp
cinnamon
1/4 tsp
allspice, ground
1/2 c
crisco shortening
1 tsp
vanilla
1 Tbsp
baking powder
1/4 tsp
cloves, ground
2
eggs
1/4 tsp
nutmeg
1/4 tsp
salt

TOPPING

1 can(s)
14-1/2ounce unsweetened applesauce
1 tsp
allspice, ground
3/4 c
sugar
1/4 tsp
cloves, ground
1/4 tsp
nutmeg
1 tsp
cinnamon

Step-By-Step

1Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2Cream together sugar and Cisco. Add eggs and vanilla; mix well.
3Sift dry ingredients together.
4Add alternately with applesauce to sugar mixture.
5Pour into bundt pan and bake at 350 degrees until done (not sure how long, this was my Mom's recipe).
6For Topping: mix ingredients. Take a wooden spoon and poke holes in warm cake. Spread topping over warm cake.
