Here is a festive fun cake with lots of possibilities. Depending on what flavor gelatin you use... Lime? Cherry? Lemon?

Decorate this cake to celebrate any special occasion.

Ingredients

white cake
1 box
(3 oz. box) fruit flavored gelatin
1
small box of instant pudding (optional)
1
large tub of whipped topping, thawed
1/2 c
powdered sugar
1 tsp
almond extract
food coloring
fresh strawberries, candies, or sprinkles (optional)

Directions Step-By-Step

Bake a white cake according to directions

As soon as you pull the cake out of the oven use poke holes all across the top at varying depths with either the handle of a wooden spoon or a chopstick

Prepare your favorite flavor gelatin according to package directions and allow to cool. When cooled, pour gelatin over cake

In a large bowl add whipped topping and fold in powdered sugar and almond extract and a few drops of food coloring if desired. Chill topping until cake is completely cooled then spread lavishly on top

Optional - If desired prepare pudding as a second layer that can be spread on completely chilled cake, then top with whipped topping

Garnish with candies, fruit, or sprinkles as desired
