Katrina's notes for this recipe:
The first time I heard of dump cake was when my best friend, Barb made it. I had to have the recipe right then and there. My dad fell in love with it and began requesting it every chance he got. Years later I came across this recipe that added pecans and coconut to the original dump cake recipe thus making it "Hawaiian" Dump Cake and now I love it even more! Serve it warm and add a dollop of ice cream. Heavenly

There are a lot of dump cake recipes on this site. The firs one I tried decades back was just pie filling, pineapple tidbits, cake mix and pats of butter. It was years later I came across this variation of it in a cake mix cook book. It is now my dump cake go to recipe. I hear you can use any kind of pie filling too. Some like peach... some like apple, but I love cherry so I am sticking with that. I have other recipes for apple treats.
