K&W German Chocolate Pie

A friend gave me this recipe. It is served at a K&W Cafeteria here in our town.

Ingredients

7 Tbsp
cocoa
3 c
sugar
4
eggs, lightly beaten
1 c
pecans, chopped
1 c
coconut
13 oz
can evaporated milk
1 tsp
vanilla
1 stick
butter
2
deep dish pie shells, unbaked

Directions

Mix ingredients together. Pour into 2 pie shells. Bake at 325 degrees for 50 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.

    This sounds good, but why is it called cake, when it is baked in pie shells?

    Barbara, you are absolutely correct. Thank you for pointing that out to me. I must have inadvertently typed cake instead of pie. I have fixed it in the recipe now. Thank you so much. Hope you enjoy it.
