I tried this and loved it! An easy crowd pleaser! This recipe was posted on another site by a member named Rodeogirl73. The photo is my own.

Directions

1
Arrange 4 ice sandwiches long sides touching on a flat serving plate.
2
Apply an even layer of whipped cream over top, making sure whipped cream extends to outside edges for best appearance.
3
Repeat layers twice.
4
Garnish top as desired.
5
Freeze at least 5-7 hours, depends on the freezer or until firm.
6
Cut with serrated knife.

You can also add crushed peanuts or your favorite candy bars (crushed) in the middle and ontop of the cake!

Hey I just made this with my son - happy to see the recipe here. Its a very kid friendly recipe and everyone was so surprised that something so simple could taste as good as any store bought ice cream cake. We used Banana Split ice cream sandwiches. Yummy.

I made this again this past weekend, Lillian. I toasted some pecans and chopped them really small and covered the outside of the cake. It is so good. I also found some no sugar added/low fat ice cream sandwiches. We thought they were delicious.
