Granny Thomas' Man's Cake

This recipe was my GrandMother in Law's. It was a staple at her house. Whenever you went there, it was on the table. I don't know why she called it "Man's Cake" but everyone seemed to like it. She always served it without the glaze. I post this in honor of her. We Lost her a little over a year ago & her Birthday was March 16. RIP Granny Thomas, We Love & Miss You.

Ingredients

CAKE

eggs
1 3/4 c
sugar
1 c
shortening
1 tsp
vanilla extract
pinch
salt
2 c
self- rising flour

GLAZE

2 c
powdered sugar
3-4 Tbsp
milk
1 tsp
vanilla extract
1 Tbsp
butter (optional)

Directions Step-By-Step

Preheat oven to 350 degrees

Mix eggs, sugar, shortening, vanilla & salt together. Add flour and mix well.

grease and flour (I use Bakers Joy) bundt pan. Pour cake batter into pan. Bake 30-35 minutes or until done

Glaze

Stir together powdered sugar, 3 tablespoons of milk and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until smooth, adding another tablespoon of milk if necessary for desired consistency.

Drizzle over cake as desired
