My Grandmother used to make these all the time for me when I was young. She finally gave me the recipe and I have been making them since! They are super moist and just incredible. Have one in the morning with your coffee or warm one up and place vanilla ice cream on top for dessert!

So Very Tastey!! Made it in 9/13inch glass pan and it took at least 1hr at 325 degrees but was very moist but good. Next time I will bake this in muffin pans to get that little crusty edges on each piece. Will add chopped pecans or walnuts and maybe a little vanilla. Muffin size will be easier to freeze/defrost as desired.

I made these for a a "Coffee" at the local historical society, it was a stand up affair at the headquarters. After I cut them up they crumbled all over the place, I was visualizing the crumbs all over the oriental carpet so I decided these wouldn't do, so I made a batch of pecan shortbread cookies. I saved the Apple Brownies for us to have at home and I must say they were absolutely delicious, messy to eat but ooh so good. My husband put a scoop of vanilla ice cream on his and drizzled some caramel sauce on his......his new favorite dessert!

I saved the apple peels and placed them on foil, sprinkled them with cinnamon/sugar and baked them in the oven for 10-15 minuted next to the cake...very nice treat....
