Grandmas fresh country apple cake!
|Serves:||12 (depending on size of cuts)|
|4 c||peeled and shredded apples (any kind sweet or tart depending on your taste) i leave the skin on my apples!|
|1 1/2 tsp||baking soda|
|1c||pecans chopped (optional)|
Try Diamond of California Nuts
|(options) powder sugar to sprinkle on top, caramel to drizzle, ice cream, cool whip|
This is my grandmas fresh apple cake recipe. I have tweaked it but there is very little you can do to country baking perfection. I miss her dearly and this is my way of keeping her around.
Bake at 350 for 50 minutes
springs when pressed when done
Sprinkle with powdered sugar
Drizzle with caramel
serve with cool whip
serve ala mode with vanilla ice cream
