I completely forgot to come back to this recipe!!! I DID make these, but using what I had on hand, as I didn't want tho go to the store, here's what I came up with. I created a plain white cake batter from scratch (no boxed cakes in my house), and used a reduced sugar lemon frosting in the batter. After they were done and still quite warm, I poked holes in them with a toothpick, and then dipped them in a lemon glaze made out of lemon juice and powdered sugar, and then completed the presentation with lemon zest, and a candied lemon peel (made from Colleen Sawa's Candied Orange recipe). Good stuff, very refreshing, especially if you like lemon!!!
