Ingredients

GREASE LAYER PAN: 8X8X2 OR 9X9X2 INCHES OR ROUND 9X1.5 INCHES.

COFFEE CAKE INGREDIENTS

1 1/2 c
flour
3/4 c
sugar
2 1/2 tsp
baking powder
3/4 tsp
salt
1/4 c
shortening
3/4 c
milk
1
egg

TOPPING INGREDIENTS

1/3 c
brown sugar, firmly packed
1/4 c
flour
1/2 tsp
cinnamon
3 Tbsp
butter, firm butter.

Directions Step-By-Step

Heat Oven to 375 degrees.

Grease round layer pan, 9 x 1 1/2 inches.
or square pan, 8 x 8 x2 inches or 9 x9 x2 inches.

Blend all ingredients except Topping.
Beat vigorously 1/2 minute. Spread in greased pan.

Make Topping:
Mix brown sugar, flour, cinnamon and firm butter until crumbly.

Sprinkle Topping over batter.

Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Serve warm.
