Extreme Party Cake...

Just 1 of my go to cakes when I need a dessert for company.

2 c
cake flour
1 1/2 c
3 tsp
baking powder
1 tsp
1/2 c
vegetable oil
eggs, separated
3/4 c
cold water
2 tsp
vanilla extract
1/2 tsp
cream of tartar
red food coloring drops, few drops


1Heat oven to 325F.
2Sift together the first 4 ingredients into mixing bowl. make s hole in the dry ingredients. Add in the oil,egg yolks,water & vanilla. Beat until smooth on medium speed for 1 min.
3In another bowl add the cream of tartar to the egg whites. Beat on high speed for 3 to 5 mins until stiff & glossy.
4Pour egg yolk batter gradually over the egg whites, gently fold together to blend. Do not stir.
5Pour immediately into non greased 10inch tube pan. Bake for 55 mins, then turn up oven to 250 for 10 to 15 mins or until top springs back when lightly touched.
6turn pan upside down over bottle to cool. Loosen with knife & turn back over right side up. Hit edges sharply on table to fully loosen.
7Ice as you wish...
Note: I use a home made raspberry am icing.
