A very good friend of mine, Janet Brown, says this cake is THE best! I'm going to try it and find out and then I'll let you know!

1Blend shortening, sugar until light, adding eggs one at a time, then slowly add buttermilk and vanilla, and then dry ingredients.
2PAM or grease and flour a 9 x 13 cake pan. Bake at 350, 25 - 30 minutes.
3Frosting: Blend in a saucepan and bring to a rolling boil. Cook 1 minute. Pour over warm cake!
