Donna's Story

I wanted a quick and easy coffee cake as I was sick of the ones sold in the stores. So I decided to make one for myself and was very pleased with the results.

My husband has already eaten a quarter of my breakfast snack..wonderful with a hot cup of coffee.

Blue Ribbon Recipe

Notes from the Test Kitchen:
This is so good and so much better than store bought coffeecake. We all just loved it!

It looks like a crumb cake when done, but when you cut a piece out you see how the swirling of the topping carries all that brown sugar goodness all the way through the cake.... Oh, and it smells just wonderful while cooking, kind of like cinnamon rolls.

TIP: It is important to swirl 1/2 the topping really well througout the cake - It gives it a true coffee cake feel.

Made exactly as written in a Bundt pan and it was excellent . I think using butter in place of oil kept the CAKE moist. Did not use the drizzle just some powdered sugar sprinkled on top. I will use this RECIPE again and again and will also try different CAKE MIX flavors. Thank you for reminding me of a recipe I used years ago. This is a blue ribbon RECIPE.
