I personally like to serve this alittle warm with vanilla bean ice cream. Also delicious without coconut. My family loves this better than pineapple upside down cake. How I came by this was my husband wanted a upside cake and I didn't have any pineapple so I thought why not try apple pie filling. And the coconut I added because I absolutely love coconut. Hope if you try this that you love it as much as my family does.
Follow the cake directions. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Melt butter or margarine in 9x13 cake pan.Sprinkle brown sugar over butter. Spread the can of apple pie filling over the butter and brown sugar. Sprinkle the coconut over the apple pie filling.Pour the cake batter in the pan. After baking let cake set for 5 mins. Flip upside down onto your favorite cake server.
