Make a nest of the dry ingredients then add the Crisco, vanilla and warm water. Beat vigorously 2 minutes, then add egg. Beat 2 more minutes. Lightly dust the raisins and 2/3 cups of the pecans with flour. Fold raisins and pecans into batter. Grease & flour tube pan or 3 loaf pans.
Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Check to be sure it's done because it may take longer to get done well. Ice with Mrs. Hodges Icing
