chocolate zucchini cake with sugar cinnamon sauce

This is a recipe from a church recipe booklet that my great aunt gave me for my first anniversary in 1984. It is very good and simple to make.
The sauce I just now made up. I tinkered with the amounts till it looked right and tasted ok to me LOl So I hope some of you will like this topping.

Ingredients

eggs
2 C
sugar
1 C
oil
2 C
grated zucchini
2 tsp
vanilla extract
3 C
flour
1 tsp
baking powder
1 tsp
salt
1 tsp
baking soda
1/3 c
cocoa powder

Directions Step-By-Step

Mix together eggs, sugar, oil, vanilla and zucchini

Sift dry ingredients together, add to egg mixture.

You can add 1 cup of nuts and or 1 can pineapple chunks, drained.
I didnt use nuts or pineapple

Sugar and cinnamon sauce

1 stick butter
1/4 c cream
3-4 Tbsp flour can also use cornstarch
1/4 c sugar or to taste
1-2 tsp cinnamon or to taste
1/2 c water for thinning
dash of salt optional

Melt butter in sauce pan on low heat
add flour and blend with a wisk
add the cream wisk till well blended
If mixture is too thick, that is when I add a little water to thin it down
add sugar and cinnamon

Blend well to desired thickness. You can pour over all of cake or on individule pieces.
